Family: Aster (Asteraceae)
Hardy to Zones 4 to 8
(Owl’s Claws, Herb of the Wolf) Native to the mountains of the American Pacific Northwest and Southwest, flowering to 2 feet tall. Traditional external usage (TWM): counterirritant, anti-inflammatory. Gardeners like the plant because it is an easy yearly florific display with long-lived flowers. Question
John Marikos (verified owner) –
Growing question: I planted a yerba de lobo plant this spring from you guys and it’s not growing very much but it seems healthy. I have it in a large, deep pot in good neutral pH soil delivered from a nursery. I water it every evening. My regular soil is clay full of pasture grasses with long (6 feet to longer) fierce rhizomes. So I only plant tough plants in the ground. What do I need to do to give this plant what it needs? Or is it just establishing itself and its roots? What pH soil does it prefer? I live in Salem Oregon just east of the city. Thank you.

Try soaking the roots–these are borderline aquatic plants
