Soursop (Annona muricata), packet of 5 seeds

$3.95

Family: Custard Apple (Annonaceae)

Hardy to Zones 10 to 12, otherwise grown as a potted tree and brought in for the winter

(Guanabana) Perennial tree native to South America and the West Indies, growing to 20 feet tall.  Fruits are large, measuring as long as 8 inches and weighing as much as 8 lbs.  The flesh of the ripe fruits is white, juicy and delicious, being slightly acidic yet sweet, like banana cream pie.  The ripe fruits are commonly juiced to imbibe, also eaten as-is, usually over a towel or a sink.  There are many different kinds of soursop.  The seeds offered here are from a sweet and nicely textured fruit.  Traditional usage (TWM, Caribbean): Sedative, blood pressure, antiparasitic.  Unlike many trees that grow best from cuttings, this tree is normally and successfully grown from seed.  Soak seeds overnight in warm water and plant 1/2 inch deep in fast-draining medium and tamp securely.  Keep warm and evenly moist.  Germination in 4 to 6 weeks.  Work up in pots until large enough to withstand the rigors of the landscape.  Plant trees at least 15 feet apart.

5 seeds per packet, Open Pollinated, Untreated, NO GMO’s
