Heirloom dating back to the 16th century, a winter radish of great repute.  Black skin, white flesh, crunchy, strong flavor, stores well.   Easily direct-seeded fall or spring.  An extremely tough contender, will survive where other plants perish.  Insect resistant.  Sow in place and thin to 4 inches apart.  Germ in 3 to 7 days at 50 to 70 degrees F.
