Foxglove, Zimbabwe (Ceratotheca triloba), Packet of 30 seeds, Organic
$4.95
Family: Sesame (Pedaliaceae)
Self-seeding annual flowering in 150 days. May perennialize in Zone 8 and up. Not a true foxglove, not a toxic plant. Native to South Africa, where Inkunzane Enkulu (Ndele language) leaves are steamed and eaten as a vegetable, also employed as a stomach remedy. Showy. Base of plant bushy with spreading, trilobed leaves shooting forth thin, flowering spikes festooned with flaring, light-purple flowers. Resembles foxglove in appearance but not chemistry. Traditional use (TAM): menstrual woes, headache and nausea. Easy from seed, which may be sown in warm soil. Germ in 1 to 2 weeks. Plants benefit from greenhousing through the spring and planting out late to the hot garden. May also be direct-seeded.
30 seeds per packet, Certified Organically Grown
