(Twerkleur Aloe) Perennial succulent native to the western cape of South Africa. Consisting of robust rosettes of tapered, sword-like leaves, the plant gives rise to multiple upright racemes crowned by large red inflorescences. The plant makes a purplish-red dye for woolens. Traditional usage (South African muti): constipation, venereal disease. Space plants at least 3 feet apart.

Hi Amanda, The various aloes contain different levels of mucilage and aloe-emodin, etc. I recommend Aloe sinkatana as the best for external use, as the mucilage is very prevalent. Richo
