Was once promoted as “musket shot water,” a source of astringent tannins. Plant prefers sun to part shade, average soil. Sow in fall or spring. Slow to germ. Space plants 2 feet apart.

hi, similar but a different species. pilosa is “hairy,” this one is the official species. we have to abbreviate the species name otherwise paypal shuts down our account. strange world. r

yes, 6 weeks cold/moist is often employed. the plant naturally drops its seed in the fall or winter and germinates in the spring. even simply sowing in warm soil works with this one, although germination can be slow.
