Sage, Transylvanian Blue (Salvia transsylvanica), Packet of 20 seeds, Organic

$3.95

Family:  Mint (Lamiaceae)

Hardy to Zones 7 to 9, otherwise profitably grown as an annual (flowers in the first year)

Native to the Transylvanian mountains of Romania, this is a robust, full-flowered, bright blue sage that is quite comely and attracts butterflies and other pollinators to the garden.  The flowers are large, bright, and long-lived and can be convinced to grow the entire gardening season by cutting back and allowing to regrow, which these do quite nicely.  Flowers to 18 inches. Plant prefers sun to part shade and is elevation tolerant.  Sow seeds in spring.  Germination is fast and reliable.  Prick seedlings to larger pots and transplant out after frost.  Space plants 18 inches apart.

20 seeds per packet, certified organically grown
