(1 customer review)

Family:  Buckwheat (Polygonaceae)

Hardy to Zones 5 to 9

(Chinese Glasshouse Plant)  Native to Tibet, this is a high altitude medicinal rhubarb that produces a spire of overlapping transparent scales.  Very rare in the trade.

The plant is tolerant of clay soils and prefers a full sun position with moist, fertile, poorly drained soil.  Sow in spring.  Prick seedlings into gallon pots and grow for a year, then transplant to garden or landscape.

    Amazing Noble Rhubarb

These seeds are great! Got 14 instead of 10, and I have 2 sprouts on day 5. Because I had extra seeds, I experimented with them and put half of them in a hydroponic system and half in soil. The seeds in the hydroponic system all swelled up and are sprouting/showing signs of sprouting. The ones in soil are less swollen and have not sprouted yet. If you give these seeds a try, I highly recommend sprouting them hydroponically. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase!
