Pulsatilla (Anemone pulsatilla) potted plant, organic

$11.00$30.50

Family:  Crowfoot (Ranunculaceae)

Hardy to Zones 4 to 9

(Wind Flower, Pasque Flower)  Herbaceous perennial. Native to Europe. The plant is diminutive but brazen, sending up large, showy purple flowers early in the spring, before most plants are half awake, giving way to upright, feathery seedheads straight out of Dr. Suess. Traditional usage (TWM): nervous disorders, shock, menopause, PMS, insomnia. A classic low-dose botanical, the plant is acrid and should be treated with great respect.  Plant prefers full sun to part shade and dryish, well-drained, and calcareous soils. A few of the things I’ve seen work well over the years:  a peaty soil with plenty of limestone chips worked in.  A dry site along the pathway or driveway, sometimes up against rocks.  A thick bark mulch can be helpful.  Put in front of other, larger plants so the pulsatilla my be better appreciated.  Works well in pots and doesn’t need much water.  Survives reasonably well among grasses, although it is best placed where even grasses fail to grow luxuriously.  Space plants 1 to 2 feet apart.

Potted plant, Certified Organically Grown
