(Cayenne Pepper) Native to S. America.  Makes long, thin, very dark red fruits that are pervasively fiery hot. These are generally ground to powder and used on food to enhance flavor. Traditional usage (TWM): circulation stimulant, antibacterial, vermifuge, against shock, life extension.  Source of capsaicin.  Peppers prefer a scanty, even water supply, good drainage, full sun.  The best compost for Peppers is higher in phosphorous than nitrogen.
