Is there much medicinal difference between the 2 kinds of Chaste Trees, especially in relation to female issues? Surprisingly difficult to find a good comparison on the internet. Thanks

Hi Donna,
Thanks for this thoughtful question. I have reviewed the phytochemistry of both plants and find quite a bit of supporting evidence to lean toward Vitex agnus-castus as a proestrogenic treatment for menopause, PMS and menstrual irregularity. On the other hand Vitex negundo (sanscrit “negundo” = that which protects from disease) is considered more of an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, etc. Richo
