Mint, Mayan (Lippia dulcis) potted plant, organic

$8.50$21.95

Family: Vervain (Verbenaceae)

Hardy to Zones 8 to 12, commonly grown as an annual or potted plant brought in for the winter

(Mayan Mint) Perennial creeping plant with very showy purple leaves and upright cone-like flowers.   Does well in pots.  The taste is somewhat like stevia, but with aromatic overtones and no stevia aftertaste.  This is a pre-sweetened tea herb, and it is really handsome in the garden, as well.  We find that the plant prefers fast-draining but nutrient rich soils and drapes admirably over rock walls or other garden features.  Plant prefers full sun to part shade.  Space plants 2 feet apart.

Potted plant, Certified Organically Grown

Mayan Mint…I assume if your in zones 5-6 your best to grow in pot and bring inside during winter. Also, the pot restricts its growth because of its roots grow similar to any mint.

Hi Dan, correct assumption, mayan mint is not winter hardy in z 5-6. Also, it is not like other mints–it is not particularly rhizomatous, and it is definitely woody of stem. Richo
