Mint, Chinese (Mentha haplocalyx) potted plant, organic
$8.50 – $57.00
Family: Mint (Lamiaceae)
Hardy to Zones 5 to 9
(Bo-he) Herbaceous perennial native to China. Taste pleasant, not overpowering, very clean. I find this to be similar to peppermint, equally vigorous, always bright green, and. . . I like the taste better. Traditional use (TCM): One of the Chinese herbs that cools and releases the exterior. Used to treat fever, cough, red eyes and sore throat. Source of menthol. Plant prefers sun to part shade and moist soils. Space plants 1 to 2 feet apart.
Potted plant, Certified Organically Grown

Hi Jen, I double-checked on this. Our zone designations indicate the winter hardiness that we are aware of. This plant may overwinter in colder zones but we’re not sure of it. If you would like to experiment with outdoor overwintering in a colder zone, we’d appreciate any feedback. Richo

Minty, tending towards spearmint. Of all the mints I’ve tasted, I find this to be cleanest. And, my greehouse staff feels the same–they maintain some gallons of chinese mint for chewing, and they could have about 10 other kinds of mint, and they choose this one.
