Do yourself a favor and get these books

These volumes are absolute treasures. I’ve been a perfectly competent vegetable gardener for some time, and as such I was able to grow common culinary herbs well enough, but as I became interested in more rare and difficult-to-grow medicinal herbs, I found that I simply did not have the necessary knowledge base to ensure good chances of success. Nonetheless, I tried, and, you know, you get lucky sometimes. But with Growing Plant Medicine in hand, I find that even notoriously difficult seeds sprout readily. Get these books. Learn how to mix your own soils and grow out the garden of diversity you’ve been dreaming of for so long. These are the most important volumes in my gardening library. I take them with me to the potting bench. I have learned to remember to check them before I take some rash action. Richo seems to have accumulated several lifetimes worth of herbal wisdom, and with these books, he has offered it to the rest of us. Do yourself a favor and accept it. Get Making Plant Medicine while you’re at it. I should probably get another copy at this point, as mine is quite well worn.

Thank you to Richo and Senna and everyone at Strictly Medicinal for making these books, as well as all of these wonderful, sacred, healing plants, available. This is truly great work.

Hi! Newbie beginner herebalist in training. I’m starting my journey on growing what I can here in Central Florida zone 10b. What book of yours do you recommend for me to learn best practices for growing the plants? Tips and tricks to ensure I give them the best shot at shining. Also, great recipes too! Thanks!

    So Many Thanks

Often when I poke around in my garden I wonder… What would Richo do? So many new plant seeds have arrived to me by this team. ALL of these books gratify my curiosities and practical questions alike. The indexes are exceptional and detailed. Lifetimes of knowledge to mine. So many thanks.

    Awesome set of books!

I really enjoy reading both volumes. I’ve skipped around some – had to learn what Richo has to say about all the culinary herbs I’m already growing, after all! (And being able to skip around is a big plus of these volumes!) I’m not done, of course, but have to comment on a couple features I really appreciate. One: The descriptions of the plants and their families are amazing. I particularly enjoy the references to their roots far in the past (millions of years ago); these references make me appreciate the paradox of seeds – ancient yet young. The description of Butcher’s Broom this morning was especially fascinating, due to the information about its pollinator from the past. Two: My favorite chapter in Volume 1, so far, has to be Chapter 5, especially about frog song. Sadly, I have no frogs on my property, but we do have crickets and in summer the cicadas tune up in the evenings. Perhaps the plants enjoy them, too, as I seem to have good results in my garden. I guess every region has its own set of singers! This is certainly a set of books I will continuously refer to in the years to come. I’m so glad I bought them!
