(Brown Turkey)  These plants are made from cuttings of a local tree that has proven itself extremely productive, robust, winter-hardy and self-fertile.  Woody perennial bush to small, spreading tree to 18 feet, producing voluminous purple fruits with light pink interior, sweet.  Figs may be eaten fresh or dried for later use.  There are 2 cycles of fruit produced, spring and fall.  Give figs full sun, fertile soil, a deep surface mulch of comfrey leaves, and water regularly, especially in the first year.   Space 15 feet apart.
