Hardy to Zone 9 to 10, may withstand light frost, otherwise grown as a potted plant indoors or on the summer patio.

(Zebra Aloe) Perennial succulent native to Ethiopia and Nigeria.  Plant is distinguished by long white bands on the toothed leaves, which occur in a fat rosette to 18 inches tall.  Edible flowers arise in the late winter to early spring, showy, colored red to orange.  Large plantings are used to stabilize soil.  Space plants 1 to 2 feet apart.
