$3.95

Family: Legume (Fabaceae)

Hardy to Zones 8 to 12

Perennial tree to 60 feet, native to Australia. This is a very fast-growing tree for warmer climes, and may be raised as a potted tree in colder zones.  The leaves are long and green, the flowers ocurring in yellow sprays, the seedpods twisted and decorative.  Bark is a source of DMT.   Tree prefers part shade to sun and fast draining soil.  Scarify seed by nicking or by dropping in hot water.  Soak overnight.  Germ occurs in 1 to 2 weeks.  Pot to successively larger pots.  A great landscape plant for frost-free areas.
