Plant prefers full sun, rich soil and regular watering. Although these may be allowed to sprawl they really do best if grown on a trellis, cage, or pole. Providing a trellis keeps the weighty pods up off the ground, saves space in the garden, and keeps the pods clean for easy harvest.
