(Potentilla erecta, Cinquefoil) Herbaceous perennial native to Europe and temperate asia. A crown of yellow flowers graces a widely mounding plant. Both flowers and leaves are characteristic and handsome. The leaves are palmate in 5 lobes (like a human hand) and the flowers are bright golden yellow. Traditional use (TWM, TNAM): tea of roots used to treat bacterial diarrhea. Source of therapeutic tannins. Plant likes full sun and moist garden soil. Sow in spring by pressing seed into surface and keeping moist until germ. Light dependent germinator. Space 1 foot apart. Flowers to 2 feet tall.

Hi James, these are standard light-dependent warm soil germinators. Just press into surface and keep moist, warm and in the light until they come up. richo
