Vining annual, 90 days from setting plants in field to harvest. This variety was new for me in 2020 so I kept careful track of how long it took to grow them. Seeds were planted 4/6 and transplant to field occurred on 5/24. First harvest occurred on 8/25, although there were a few ripe ones prior to that. Therefore, from seed to salad bowl actually took 140 days.
Midsize indeterminate vine producing voluptuous clusters of fruit. The taste is sweet and melt-in-your-mouth chocolatey mellow. Standard tomato culture, trellis or allow to sprangle. Space plants 3 feet apart.

Hi, I’m in Zone 9 in SoCal and it looks like my last freeze is next week. Have I waited too long to start tomatoes from seed? Could I start them by directly sowing in the ground? I’m still figuring out gardening.

Hello Jane, Thanks for staying in touch. You have not waited too long at all. You can start tomato plants in March in a Zone 9 with very good results. I recommend “old german” Richo

hi there! I grew this one season and was not sufficiently impressed by the size and taste of them to grow them again. They just didn’t hold a candle to Chadwick’s Cherry. Richo
