Tobacco, Smoking (Nicotiana tabacum) seeds, organic
$3.95 – $52.10
Family: Nightshade (Solanacea)
Annual. 80 to 100 days to maturity.
(Virginia Smoking Tobacco) Native to the New World. This is a very mellow smoking tobacco that matures readily, even if the summer is cool or the growing season short. Flowers pink to 5 feet. Highly recommended. The leaves are large and thin. The plant likes full sun and moderate water and prefers to grow in a well-fertilized soil (chicken manure) and a side dressing of compost or more manure will really boost yield. Sow seed in the spring or early summer in flats or in a fine seed bed. If your growing season is short, you can start plants indoors 6 weeks prior to the last frost. Press seeds firmly into surface (light dependent germinator) and keep warm and evenly moist until germination. Germ in 10 to 14 days. Transplant or thin seedlings to 2 feet apart.
Packet contains 100 seeds
1 g contains ~10,000 seeds
5 g contains ~50,000 seeds
10 g contains ~100,000 seeds

I truthfully couldn’t tell you what kind it is (a brightleaf maybe?) but it grows quickly and tolerates cold weather well. A great “set and forget” plant for the garden and easy enough to cure if you’re so inclined.

I’ve used this seed several times. Great product.
However I’m ordering this a second time this season because my crazy bulldogs knocked over the starter trays.

Would love to see a video with your thoughts on growing and proper, non-ceremonial but respectful, use of tobacco

Can you reuse the seeds that you yield from the plants more than one generation?

Hey there, curious what tabacco seeds you would recommend for a tropical zone. I am on the Caribbean side of Panama….temps always from 72 to 90….humidity hardly ever under 75 percent. Thanks much!
