(1 customer review)

$8.50

Family:  Nightshade (Solanaceae)

Annual. 60 days to flowers

(Huichol Tobacco) I’ve come across this plant growing spontaneously and wild in dry arroyos in Arizona and New Mexico.  It always stops me in my tracks and evokes great respect.  I can see why it is considered such a potent totem among the native people.  Huichol is a powerful ceremonial and smoking tobacco, making small leaves on long petioles. The plant makes multitudes of decorative, pendulous, yellow-green blossoms, flowering to 3 feet. Plant prefers full sun and standard garden soil.  Space 1 to 2 feet apart.

It’s sticky. Coated in stick trichomes of a sort. I’ve smoked a bit, does seem to get you high in a way. Don’t need a lot. Can survive with almost no water.

hi chris, the Huichol tobacco is already growing in the pot. when you plant it out to the garden it will grow more. i think chewing tobacco is made from Nicotiana tabacum plants so that would be the kind to plant. r
