I have alkaline soil and water (7.5-8.0). Will this tree grow in my soil/water condition or will I have to supplement with acidifies?

Hi CR, Thanks for contacting. I can relate to wanting to grow this, as my Manuka are in flower right now, outdoors, and they are splendid! Best to acidify to 4.5 to 6.5. You can find this info in “Growing Plant Medicine Vol 2” on page 196, Richo

Hello! I’m in Zone 7b (North AL) and wondered if I should keep Tea Tree is a large planter or if he would do ok in the ground? What sort of sun conditions does he like best? Thank you!

I live in southeastern Ct. new Zone 7a. I would love to plant tea tree. Is it too risky? Should I try containers so I can overwinter indoors? I’ve managed to have Rosemary keep in an outside bed over winter. What do you think? I
May never have a chance to grow this again.

Hi Donna, Thanks for contacting. I have found them to be frost intolerant unless grown against a south facing wall or in among rocks. If you attend to these microsite specifics, or grow the plant as a potted tree (and they do do well in pots) then you can have the plant. They have the unique ability to flower and fruit when small.
