(Himalayan Sarcococca, Himalayan Sweet Box)  Evergreen perennial shrub to 2 feet, native to the western Himalayan range and China.  Plant prefers acidic soil in the shade to dappled sun, a good choice for ground cover and low hedging in yards, on gentle slopes, under conifers, and in the rockery.  Winter flowers exceedingly sweet scented when no other flower essences linger on the frozen landscape.  Early spring berries dark, shiny and showy.  Pointed leaves are lustrous.  Space shrubs 3 feet apart.
