Is April an optimal time to plant these seeds? My reading tells me to plant in the fall for the seeds to sprout in the spring. I haven’t tried to grow this plant previously. thanks

Hi Joyce, These are large seeds with a lot of internal resources, very hard, can take years to come up. We recommend sowing as soon as possible after receipt in cool, moist shade. Label and mulch the planting spot. If immediate planting is not possible, polease refrigerate the seed to maintain cold-stored viability. That’s what we do. Richo

      Hello Francis,
Herbalists are usually pretty clear on Solomon’s Seal that it is good for treating injuries of the joints. It doesn’t appear to work well for lost cartilage, though. It is at the very least harmless as far as I know. I’ve made the tincture and used it–mucilaginous like comfrey, which by the way is another good option.

Cool. Thanks so much. I have a couple of comfrey plants that are growing like mad, thanks to your crowns. Good lord, my recent batch of seeds isn’t even here yet, and my cart is full again. Glad to have you here as I work my way through an herbal course. xo
