Evergreen perennial native from Turkey to the Caucasus, also Iran.  Rare.  Showy, tough, aromatic groundcover flowering white with purple to a height of 4 inches.  As a culinary herb, rated high in terms of aroma, taste and texture.  Traditional usage (TWM): Carminative. Plant prefers sun to part shade, well-drained soil, excellent for edging, rock gardens, raised beds and walkways.  Space plants 1  to 2 feet apart.
