$4.95
Family: Aster (Asteraceae)
Hardy to Zones 6 to 9
(Lavender Cotton) Evergreen rounded bush to 24 inches tall, with silvery-grey foliage giving rise to bright yellow flowers, native to the Mediterranean basin. These are tough as well as pretty. The deeply-divided foliage lends a soft appearance to otherwise stark landscape. Traditonal usage (TWM): antiparasitic, stomachic. Plant prefers very fast-draining, alkaline soils and full sun, being perfectly drought-tolerant. Sow seed in sand or fast-draining mix, tamp securely and keep evenly moist and in the light until germination, which is rapid. Work up in pots. Space plants 2 to 3 feet apart.
