(Judean Sage) Woody perennial native to the Middle East, growing to 3 feet tall.  Works well in pots, in which case, bring them in for the winter!  Violet flowers and bracts in whorls, resembling the seven-branched candlestick, the menorah, as described in EXODUS.  A rare, fragrant and exceptionally beautiful plant.  Plant prefers full sun and fast-draining soil. I have found these to be very dependable in a Zone 7 garden, returning year after year from a very perennial rootstock.   Space plants 2 feet apart.
