$11.00
Family: Spurge (Euphorbiaceae)
Hardy to zone 9 to 12, commonly grown as a potted plant and brought in for the winter.
(Firestick Plant, Indian Tree Spurge, Naked Lady, Sticks on Fire, Chakaazi, Milk Bush, Pencil Plant, Kraalmelkbos, Rubber Hedge Euphorbia) Perennial succulent tree to 30 feet, native to arid and semi-arid lands of Central, North, East and South Africa. Protect from frost. A fascinating plant with bright green, glabrous, cylindrical branches that stick out erratically at diverse angles, tipped by vestigial leaves. During the cold season, the tree will turn yellow and red, especially at the tips, thus the “Sticks on Fire” adage.
