(Spanish Chamomile, Mount Atlas Daisy, Akarkara) Herbaceous or evergreen perennial native to the Mediterranean basin and the Himalayas.  Similar in growth to Roman chamomile, plants flower to about 1 foot tall in spring or early summer, presenting pretty white and yellow blossoms. Traditional usage (Ayurvedic and TWM): nervine tonic, paralysis, sialagogue, dental woes, testosterone.  The dried, ground roots are pungent and may be used as a flavor enhancing spice in avante garde cookery.  Plant prefers full sun and fast draining soil. The plants may be set out at 6 inches to 1 foot apart.
