Plants will ship early June 🙂
Pawpaw (Asimina triloba) potted tree seedling, organic
$15.00 – $40.00
Family: Anonaceae
Hardy to Zones 5 to 8
Perennial deciduous tree growing to about 20 feet tall. These produce America’s largest edible fruit, the banana-like pawpaw, looking like an escape from the tropics. Tasting like banana custard, the fruit is a sedative and laxative medicine. Tree prefers part shade and a moist, slightly acidic forest soil. Our trees are seedlings grown from Kentucky State improved variety. These are seedlings from this year.
Potted plant, certified organically grown

Hi! I purchased a bunch of seeds earlier this year and just noticed you have Pawpaw! Is your nursery going to have them available this year? I have a perfect shaded understood spot in my garden here in Louisiana. Thanks!

hello hummingbird. thanks for writing. we don’t have much by way of pawpaw, most of our stock is too big to ship, i do think you can get these locally. richo

Roughly how long will these take before fruit production? And I assume they should be bought in pairs for pollination? (Or do they need another type of pawpaw to pollinate?)
Richo Cech –
Hi Marie,
It takes 4 to 8 years for a seedling to grow large enough to produce fruit. Yes. Pawpaws are generally self-incompatible, so you need two trees for cross-pollination. Plant at least two seedlings.
