Perennial flowering to 5 feet tall. Native to Europe. Traditional usage (TWM): menstrual woes, tonic to the heart. Decorative flowers on a lithe and blowsy plant. Plant prefers part shade to full sun, regular garden soil and plenty of water. Sow in the fall or early spring. Barely cover seed with soil, tamp securely and keep evenly moist until germination, which occurs in 1 to 3 weeks. Direct seed in garden or work up in pots. Thin or transplant to 1 to 2 feet apart.

Think I read that Mugwort can be invasive want to make sure Motherwort isn’t before I put it outside. Got one or 2 started in a pot already.

Hi Vicky,
The 2 plants are from different families, so attributes of the one do not necessarily reflect attributes of the other. I dunno, you’re talking to the wrong person regarding invasive plants. I just don’t think of it that way. I think of it as rampant volunteerism, which switches the focus to the utility of the plants. If we use them, then we like it that they volunteer.
