I’m doing an herbalist course. Alot of your pictures look different than what is in my course. I wanted motherwort, leonurus cardiaca, but the picture in yours looks way different than what my course is saying. Yours is bushy, the one it says I want is skinny stems with spaced out purple flowers. Can you help with understanding

Hi Lorissa, Motherwort (Leonurus cardiaca) starts out globe-shaped and goes up into linear flowering racemes when it matures. Your herb course is giving you an illustration of the plant in flower. For herbal use, it is best to harvest the leaves and young flowers, as the plant gets hard to handle when it matures (ouch!) and the yield/constituents are less in later stages of development. I recommend both “Making Plant Medicine” and “Growing Plant Medicine Vols 1 and 2” to take you to the next level. Richo
