Creeping perennial native to Western North America loves rocky shade and everdripping water.  Common coastside or associated with inland springs, the flowers are very bright and oversize to the plant, flowering continuously for months.   Space plants a foot apart–if they like the aspect, they will fill the spaces.

      Most of the traditional uses revolve around the cooling nature of the plant. It was used as a fresh plant poultice to treat infections and burns. There is more–check Moerman. Richo
