Mint, Spearmint (Mentha spicata), packet of 100 seeds, organic
$3.95
Family: Mint (Lamiaceae)
Hardy to Zones 3 to 7
Classic herbal flavoring with deep and satisfying undertones to the usual cooling sensation associated with mint. Press seeds into soil surface and keep cool and moist until germ. Plant prefers moist soils in sun to part shade. We grow our own on this one and find that it breeds true generation to generation. The plant is upright and makes shockingly bright flowering racemes.

Question
Lynette C. Coffey –
Hi! I am in zone 9b, so if I am understanding it correctly, the Mentha spicata plant is not perennial in my zone? Can I overwinter it inside, in a planter?

Hi Lynette, not exactly. when you’re a zone or more hotter than the recommended zone it means the plant may be too hot in your garden and not thrive because of that. plant moister, cooler, and the plant will most likely be fine. r

What is the germination rate on your Mentha spicata? Also wondering what it is on your Mentha piperita? Thank-you.

Both of these are 3rd-party tested at over 90% germ.

I purchased this mint and just realized I live in zone 10 in Southern CA. Will these still work? Perhaps if I grow indoors? Thank you

Mint pays no attention to zone designations–as long as you have a moist spot in the shade, it will grow there.
