Lettuce, Crisp Mint Romaine (Lactuca sativa), packet of 200 seeds, organic
$2.95
Family: Aster (Asteracea)
Annual, 70 days to harvest
(Crisp Mint Romaine Lettuce) Mint green leaves wrap around the white heart of this superior selection of Romaine. I find these to be the lettuce of choice for early summer. When other lettuces have bolted, crisp mint stays solid. Upon opening up the head, the core may be found to be white and sweet, not bitter. This lettuce is also an excellent choice for late summer and winter gardening, as it remains sweet and solid through the colder days of autumn and into the winter.

Question
Susan James –
How many seeds per lettuce plant? I’m in Z9. Currently in January winter with low 30’s temp. Want to keep lettuce growing.
p.s. do any of your books give information such as what I ask above? I have the 2 volumes in my cart.

Hi Susan, thanks for writing!Z one 9 is warm and easy to overwinter lettuces. You’ll enjoy the 500 plus species seeds per gram chart in “Growing Plant Medicine Vol 2.” It takes only one seed to grow a lettuce plant. A typical lettuce plant will produce 5,000 seeds, Richo

Living in a hot climate, growing lettuce is a challenge. I have attempted for years to get a crisp romaine type, this is the only one that has been a success. I absolutely love this crisp, tasty lettuce. I have cut off leaves and it has come back with more. Has provided my family with fresh tasty lettuce for months now. Will definitely buy again!
