(Bohemian horseradish) Herbaceous perennial native to Eurasia, flowering white to 28 inches tall. The Czech cultivar is choice.   Traditional use (TWM): opens sinus passages, vascular stimulant, warming to the extremities.  Source of chemopreventive isothiocyanates.  A functional condiment that stimulates gastric secretions and stokes the digestive fire.  Tincture, syrup, condiment, pickle, direct consumption.  The plant prefers full sun, rich soil and regular watering.  Space 1 to 2 feet apart.
