(Cockscomb, Celosia, Ji-guan-hua)  Pantropical.  The plant bears an outrageous, convoluted, crested, flowering comb of the color burgundy. Traditional usage (TCM): menstrual woes, dysentery, and hemorrhoids. The plant prefers full sun and a well-drained, slightly acidic soil. Flowers to 20 inches.
