Bean, Kentucky Wonder Pole (Phaseolus vulgaris), packet of 20 seeds, organic

$2.45

Family:  Legume (Fabaceae)

Annual.  70 days to maturity.

(Old Homestead) Vigorous and high-yielding heirloom climber to 6 feet.   Produces clusters of flattened green beans that are sweet and stringless when harvested young, and produce tasty dry beans when left to completely mature.  Plant prefers full sun, rich soil and a trellis or corn stalks to climb upon.  In the spring, after the soil has truly warmed up, plant seeds 1 inch deep and 6 inches apart or in hills 7 seeds to a hill.  This is an easy grow that produces a great deal of beanage in a small space.  We used a circle of fencing made into a 4-foot-diameter cylinder and the beans did go crazy on that.  Somebody told me they don’t have good luck with pole beans but I think its just that they aren’t producing the optimal growth situation.  I think anybody could have good luck with these beans.  They are lucky beans.

packet contains 20 seeds, certified organically grown
