$2.95
Family: Legume (Fabaceae)
Annual. 55 days to green beans, 90 days to dry beans.
Deep golden yellow bean of the Hopi Indians. May be eaten as a green bean in early pod stage. I showed a picture of the green beans in the pot on the stove–they were quite good and stringless. This is a running bean that grows best with regular garden culture, fertile soils in the full sun. Plant 5 seeds per hill, about 1 inch deep. Germ in a week in warm soils. Plant is typified by fast, vigorous growth. Give plenty of water during growing phase and then stop watering to finish.
10 seeds per packet, Certified Organically Grown

Hi! How far will these beans “run”, and will they “strangle” or crawl on other plants they encounter? Thank you

Hi Linea, If you’re concerned about the yellow beans running over other plants, then like you said you can trellis them, but actually runners are supposed to be allowed to run free. Yes, they can overcome other plants within a 10 foot radius or so. But then, that’s how they make their bean! Richo
