Bean, Bush, Royalty Purple Pod (Phaseolus vulgaris), packet of 20 seeds, organic

$2.95

Family: Legume (Fabacea)

Annual.  55 days.

Strikingly purple pods distinguish this sturdy open-pollinated bush bean.  Flowers and to a certain extent foliage also purple.  Beans themselves stringless, 5 inches long, tasty, bright green when cooked.  Excellent choice for small gardens, raised bed culture, even potted culture, as the bushes are relatively compact and the colors are quite attractive.  Standard bush bean culture–rich soils, full sun, consistent water.  Once the soil has warmed in the spring to early summer, prepare a good seedbed and push the seeds in about 4 inches apart with rows 3 feet apart.  Thin to 8 inches between the plants.  Easy and pretty.  Pretty easy.
