Rare succulent perennial endemic to grasslands of Mpumalanga in South Africa. Flowers red to a height of 3 feet. Summer blossoming, as opposed to most aloes that are winter flowering. Sand, clay or loam. Full sun. Excellent in potted culture. Will tolerate both frost and fire, being one of the more cold hardy of the aloes. Generally grown as a potted plant indoors or on the summer patio.
