Rupturewort (Herniaria glabra), packet of 100 seeds

$3.95

Family:  Pink (Caryophyllacea)

Hardy to Zones 4 to 8

Evergreen perennial carpet-forming creeper to 3 inches tall.  Native to Southern Europe.  Pillow-soft, not picky about soil (actually likes to grow in gravel) and gently coumarin-scented.  Traditional usage: TWM, urinary tract infection.  Plant prefers full sun to part shade and mesic, well-drained soil of rockery or driveway.  Comely draper.   If planning a walkway or herbal lawn, best to sow in small pots.  In my opinion, the seed is really too small to direct seed.  Better to start plants first and set between the pavers or in areas one wishes to cover with low greenery.  The seed is best pressed into surface and kept warm, moist and in bright light to germinate, which takes about a week.  Photo in gallery is of newly sprouted seedlings.   Transplant potted plants out to about 6 inch spacing.  Will soon spread to cover.

100 seeds/pkt., Open-pollinated, untreated, no gmo’s
