There is a stage of flowering–when the petals just barely emerge–when looking straight at one of these flowers transports the gardener into a state of non-ordinary experience. The patterns draw the mind in and the power of the plant is evident. Worth growing for that moment (one-two days) alone!

Fully agree! This is my favorite Echinacea. We always had it in our gardens before I married, and afterward. It is harder to find now, although hybrids abound. Echinacea angustifolia is worth the search. Thank you, for having this wonderful plant here!
