Tomato, Black Krim (Lycopersicon esculentum), packet of 30 seeds, organic

$3.95

Family: Nightshade (Solanacea)

Annual heirloom.  75 days to fruits.

Indeterminate vine 3 to 5 feet tall.  Originally from the Isle of Krim in the Black Sea, these beefsteak type tomatoes are large, soft, somewhat flattened, green shouldered, with a dark and delicious interior, somewhat salty, very juicy. As with many heirlooms, one wonders at first what all the fuss is about–the bi-color appearance, the soft flesh, the irregular size–these things seem not so typical as the round, consistently red tomato of common commerce.  Then, you split open a “Black Krim” and taste it, and you understand…  Despite its unusual appearance, these respond favorably to standard tomato culture, and do best with a cage or trellis.

30 Seeds/pkt., Certified Organically Grown
