(Cayenne Pepper) Native to S. America.  Makes long, thin, very dark red fruits that are pervasively fiery hot. These are generally ground to powder and used on food to enhance flavor. Traditional usage (TWM): circulation stimulant, antibacterial, vermifuge, against shock, life extension, prophyllactic to cancer and heart diesease.*  Source of capsaicin.  This organic seed has been absolutely reliable in germination and produces prolifically fruited plants. If you can mature tomatoes in your garden, you can mature Cayenne. Peppers prefer a scanty, even water supply, good drainage, full sun, and a long, hot summer. Start indoors 40 to 50 days prior to the last frost. Thin seedlings to at least 2 inches apart in the flat. Transplant out to garden after the soil has really warmed up. The best compost for Peppers is higher in phosphorous than nitrogen. Fish emulsion is well-tolerated and makes for outrageous yields.

  1. Question

    Dawn

I followed the package directions on planting depth and have a lot of seedlings with the seed shell stuck to the top. I am sure they are going to die. Any recommendations? I am seeing this with the other pepper types as well.
