Question
Stephanie Villalobos –
Hey Richo, is it safe planting nightshades amongst your veggies? I’ve heard some cases of aconite (which I know is a diff species) being uptaken by nearby plants and didn’t know if there’s any risk of nearby plants taking up any of their toxic alkaloids

Hi Stephanie,
Thanks for writing! it is common sense to plant aconite away from food plants. They take a shady, moist niche that is not where one would grow veggies, anyhow. No, they do not transmit aconitine to nearby plants, you just want to make sure there is no accidental mixing of aerial parts with edibles. richo

Question
Adrian –
Since this plant is generally grown as an annual is it safe to plant it directly in the garden once I receive it in the mail? Thanks!
