Yerba del Lobo (Helenium hoopesii), packet of 50 seeds

$3.95

Family:  Aster (Asteraceae)

Hardy to Zones 4 to 8

(Owl’s Claws)   Native to the mountains of the American Pacific Northwest and Southwest, flowering to 2 feet tall.  Yerba del Lobo tends to grow in association with arnica, although it is much more robust than arnica, is taller, and tends to form denser clumps. Traditional external usage (TWM): counterirritant, anti-inflammatory.  Gardeners like the plant because it is an easy yearly florific display with long-lived flowers.  Plant prefers moist, regular garden soil and part shade to full sun.  Germination is easy and rapid.  Sow seed in spring in greenhouse or prepared garden bed.  Barely cover seed with soil, tamp securely and keep evenly maoist and warm until germination, which takes a week or two.  Work up in pots and transplant, or direct seed and thin to 2 feet apart.

50 seeds/pkt., Open Pollinated, Untreated, NO GMO’s
