Herbaceous perennial native to the Alps of Southern Europe.  Flowers dark salmon-pink, outsize to the plant, rising to a height of 20 inches.  The herb has been used traditionally (TWM) in the same manner as small-flowered-willow-herb (Epilobium parviflorum) for treatment of inflamed prostate.  Plant prefers a sunny exposure with well-drained soils or rock garden, watered moderately.  In the fall or spring, press the tiny seeds into surface of rich soil and keep warm and evenly moist until germination.  Space plants 2 feet apart.
