Tea, Chinese (Camelia sinensis) potted plant, organic
Family: Tea (Theaceae)

Native to India and China and cultivated worldwide. Glossy-leaved plant bears white, cup-like flowers in the spring. The young leaves are the source of catechin-rich green tea, and the fermented leaves are made into black tea. The plant prefers the tropics at elevation, partial shade and acidic soil. Protect from drying winds. Our seedlings will need to be grown on for another year as a potted plant before transplanting to the landscape. Space plants 15 feet apart.
